In a European cooperation effort, several cities and organizations are joining forces to launch the URBACT Network4Work project , a transfer network aimed at improving local employment ecosystems through collaborative governance models and networking between administrations, companies, educational centers and civil society.
Network4Work is an initiative led by Nyíregyháza (HU) and integrated by Stara Zagora (BG), Pavlos Melas (GR), Lousada (PT), Vilanova i la Geltrú (ES), Varberg (SE) and the Sarajevo Economic Region Development Agency (BA). The project takes as its starting point the good practice of Local Employment Forum developed in Nyíregyháza, based on multi-stakeholder cooperation to respond to the challenges of the labor market and talent retention.
The Network4Work network is based on the idea that challenges related to employment, skills and economic development cannot be addressed in a fragmented manner. For this reason, the project promotes stable coordination spaces between public institutions, companies, social agents, training centres and local innovation ecosystems.
The challenge of our city
In the case of Vilanova i la Geltrú, participation in the project will allow exploring how these governance models can contribute to strengthening strategic sectors for the city, especially in areas linked to the blue economy, talent and innovation.
Neàpolis’ participation in Network4Work aligns with the desire to continue consolidating the city’s role as a space for connecting entrepreneurship, innovation, economic development and talent, strengthening collaboration between local and European actors.
As the project progresses, participating cities will share methodologies, experiences and tools to improve their local employment policies and generate more resilient, inclusive and future-ready ecosystems.
