Immersive realities and the Internet of Things: Vilanova i la Geltrú’s technological commitment to Mobile Week 2022

Mobile Week is an initiative that aims to bring technology closer to the public and experiment with the changes of digital transformation in society. This year, 16 municipalities from all over Catalonia have taken part. Vilanova i la Geltrú has taken part for the third year in a row, presenting, on 12, 13 and 14 May, different initiatives and promoting spaces for debate and reflection on advanced technologies.

VNG participates in the initial phase of the deployment of 5G in the Penedès

Vilanova i la Geltrú has participated this morning in the presentation of the 5G Penedès Area, promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya, through the Department of Digital Policies and Public Administration, and framed within the 5G Strategy of Catalonia . It is a project that has the involvement of Mobile World Capital Barcelona, the i2CAT Foundation, the Barcelona Provincial Council, Igualada City Council, Vilanova i la Geltrú City Council, TICAnoia, Neàpolis and Telefónica.

The Vilanova i la Geltrú mobile application allows you to contact restaurants to take orders

The “Vilanova” mobile phone application incorporates the “Today we don’t cook at home” campaign, in support of restaurants. From the App it is possible to consult the list of bars and restaurants in the city that have home delivery or takeaway service and contact the place chosen to place the order. In a comfortable and agile way, using common tools in our daily lives such as Whatsapp or web booking, it is possible to place orders.
