The Minister of Business and Labor, Roger Torrent , visited Neàpolis on Friday 12 November to learn about the projects that are committed to innovation in Vilanova i la Geltrú, a step prior to the official opening of the 30th November Fair .d
It will be held on November 20, and will host different types of events and dissemination sessions on virtual reality and its uses.
The VRDay Spain edition will be held in Spain – the regional chapter of the world event -, organized by different associations and working groups from 4 venues: Barcelona, Madrid, Pamplona and Zaragoza.
Vilanova i la Geltrú has participated this morning in the presentation of the 5G Penedès Area, promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya, through the Department of Digital Policies and Public Administration, and framed within the 5G Strategy of Catalonia . It is a project that has the involvement of Mobile World Capital Barcelona, the i2CAT Foundation, the Barcelona Provincial Council, Igualada City Council, Vilanova i la Geltrú City Council, TICAnoia, Neàpolis and Telefónica.
“Soroll”, the news program of Cadena SER Penedès-Garraf, interviewed last Friday, February 26, Jordi Romero-Lengua, innovation technician of Neàpolis, to talk about the spaces offered to entrepreneurs and companies, and projects that are developed within the context of innovation, technology and health.
Vilanova i la Geltrú and Neàpolis City Councils have launched Crea & TIC, a project to incorporate innovation and disruptive technologies into local companies and generate technological talent. This proposal has received a grant from the Diputació de Barcelona, within the program “Work, Talent and Technology”, and will involve an investment of € 163,098 in two years.
Crea & Play, is the new project located in Neàpolis that works on the benefits of gamification combined with new technologies in virtual reality. Neàpolis runs the gamification center, while the i2CAT foundation leads a virtual reality lab.
Last Friday, September 3, 2021, the students of the Fundació Catalunya Voluntària visited the facilities of Neàpolis as part of its management and administration training program.
Specifically, 32 students, aged 16 and 17, accompanied by 4 teachers from the business school ‘Yordan Zahariev’ in Kiustendyl (Bulgaria) attended in order to gain international experience and learn from the culture and agents of the territory.
The Mayor, Olga Arnau, and the Councilor for Finance, Business and Innovation, Conxi Martínez, visited the headquarters of Spotlio, a company specializing in technological platforms for tourist destinations. The visit was a sign of gratitude for the support of the city’s productive fabric and for the drive it has shown throughout the pandemic.
The first meeting was held on 15 and 16 October at Masia Cabanyes to discuss the present and future of blockchains. The event was attended by more than 60 people from different parts of the world.
